		<description>This is a great article.  Vandana Shiva has continually worked for the eco-independence of India and for Indian farmers.  The ongoing tragedy of debt and suicide that these farmers face is disgusting, and there is certainly no excuse for it.  Whether it comes in the form of international regulation and guidelines, stricter Indian regulations against big corporations or the help of activists and their organic farming-based programs, something must be done.  I watched an interesting video on all of this at newsy.com today.  The video gives a few different perspectives, including Shiva&#039;s, and summarizes the controversy.  It&#039;s worth watching:
