Gristmill has a great bit of numbers showing the number of jobs created by spending a billion dollars on different things- defense, health care, education, and mass transit. Mass transit takes the top spot with 19,795 jobs with education not too far behind. Maybe when Obama wins the big show in November we’ll actually see our money being spent in smarter ways. Until then we just have to keep our fingers crossed that our current asshat President doesn’t invade Iran.

The numbers were pulled from The U.S. Employment Effects of Military and Domestic Spending Priorities, download the PDF if you want to give the full read.
