The Pedal Powered Flintstones Car Rides Again! Case Tossed Out of Court
April 5, 2008

I was happy to read yesterday that the case against Torontonian Trevor Baldwin for driving what is best described as a pedal powered Flintstones car was tossed out of court. Artist Michel de Groin gutted the ‘86 Buick Regal- ripping out the engine, exhaust, transmission, and even the headlights, replacing them with candles, turning it into a lighweight human powered conveyance.
The car hits just under 10 MPH on flat ground with four people pedaling and was pulled over by the police in October for being “unsafe”. The prosecutor had a hard time making his case in court and was interrupted by laughter from the peanut gallery. The case was dismissed and Baldwin took his car out for a drive.
Huzzah, a win for the green little guy.

The Pedal Pub Allows You to Burn Your Calories and Brain Cells At The Same Time
March 25, 2008
We love it anytime someone is able to combine saving the world with getting a good buzz on. The following video shows the Pedal Pub, which offers pub tours of the Twin Cities for those looking to do their exercise and drinking at the same time. Right now you can’t actually drink while peddling, you grab you pints in the pubs and pedal in between, but state Rep. Steve Simon has introduced a bill that “”would allow for consumption of alcohol on commercial multi-passenger bicycles.” Designated drivers would be doing the steering, but the law would allow for your engine to be drunk off its collective ass.

EarthFirst Blog Week in Review: March 10th - 14th
March 17, 2008
It was another busy last week here at the EarthFirst blog. We covered samurai swords, expensive green washed handbags, big business green hijinks by GM and Wal-Mart, expensive gas, the green Pope, “clean coal” crap, and toilet paper. We’ve nailed down the design for the new template which we’ll be rolling out in a few weeks. It looks great and we’re really excited to show it to our readers. Happy reading!

Doggie Style Commute: Ride the Bitch Cruiser to Not-Safe-for-Work
March 12, 2008
I don’t think I need to point out the fact that bikes are one of the greenest ways to get around town, this side of walking. Bikes don’t require gasoline to run, take up way less space on the road, and they give their riders a nice bit o’ exercise in the process.
The Bitch Cruiser will do all that and may just get you arrested in the process.
