Product Review: The Awesomely Rad Source Toothbrush is Made of Unicorns and Rainbow Sprinkles

I’ve found my toothbrush.
No, I didn’t lose it, I just hadn’t realized I was missing it until the good folks at Radius Toothbrush sent me a Source brush (it’s good to be a green blogger sometime). Check this bad boy out:

That is one awesome (and greener!) toothbrush. The thing fits in my hand like it was custom made. The wily toothbrush handle engineers, no- sculpters, at Radius have put together a design that is at once warm and organic while also being strong, earthy, and manly. If Chuck Norris had to brush his teeth (he doesn’t- bacteria is too scared of him), he’d be using a Source.
The head of the Source pops off when it needs replacing and has the added bonus of being oversized when compared to your typical brush. It hits both my bottom and top teeth when brushing side to side and just feel like it’s doing a better, bigger job of getting ‘em pearly clean.
Radius also sent me one of their Original Toothbrushes to try out. I like the right handed grip as well as the even-bigger sized head (it’s a beast), but would cringe everytime I tossed it out to replace it.
The Source isn’t 100% perfect- the head and bristles are made of virgin nylon and still end up in the trash when worn out, but in this day and age it’s hard to get around using and trashing ANY plastic. I’m hoping Radius is looking at ways to green up this end of the brush (I know they’re reading…), but for now it’s good enough for me.
If you brush your teeth, you should be doing it with the Source. Head over to Radius and pick yourself up one- it’s only $7 for the brush and another $7 for three replacement heads.
UPDATE: Punch in this code to get $3 off your order: SHEA3569. Thanks for the discount love Radius! Discount expires on the 20th, so hurry!
The Source ftw!!!!

Wow! Shea, thanks for such an awesome review.
The Source body which is approximately 93% of the total package is made of 100% recycled materials. That is wood sawdust scraps and recycled soda bottles to hold together.
It is awesome to find a toothbrush that could possibly last you a life time! Way cool. Replacing the heads only is a great incentive.
The head represents approximately 7% of the total product it can be recycled in #7 bins however the bristles would have to be removed or the head snipped off.
As far as I know there are no companies that are able to recycle the bristle portion of the brushes.
Here at Radius we like to Use, ReUse and Recycle! Our Original toothbrush is made of 100% sustainable yield wood cellulose a bio-plastic and it too can be recycled. You can either snip of the head or boil to soften and then remove the bristles.
Before that you can always reUSE the brush! They work great as shoe brush, a jewelry or gem cleaner…cleaning tile grout… the list goes on. With a big head like that it has plenty extra uses before being recycled.
Enjoy your Source….it is also my brush of choice along with the Original…I like to switch off every now and then!
Cheers!
