Obama: Republicans Take Pride in Being Ignorant

August 9, 2008 · Print This Article

At a town hall meeting in Berea, Ohio, Obama struck back at attempts by McCain and the Republican National Committee to ridicule him by passing out tire gauges labeled ‘Barack Obama’s Energy Plan’. This, of course, was after Obama suggested that one thing ordinary Americans can do to save energy is to keep their tires properly inflated.

“They’re making fun of a step that every expert says could absolutely reduce our oil consumption by 3-4%! It’s like these guys take pride in being ignorant!”

Awesome, and so true!

Even though he is right - I totally don’t like watching politicians make fun of each other and call each other names- it’s just such a turn off. Why does every political race have to be like this now- it’s so reality TV.
Regardless though - I vote for the environment always, and whoever cares about it.

The slogan at the Republican convention should read “It is folly to be wise where ignorance is bliss”. In every way and every issue Republicans serve big corporations and war monger first. If it is a program that can help people you are on your own as far as they are concerned. In the usual denial of the reality of their own failure they avoid the issues that they are graded “F” on (every issue) and they use lies, fear tactics and character assassination to win. The gullible fall in line and become the example of the blind leading the blind. They mislead “LIE” and serve up any reason to attack Iraq, or pass a proposal with hidden agendas that run our country into a ditch.

Got something to say?
