I don't think bashing Conservatives is going to get anything done. I think talking to everyone is what's really useful. I consider myself a conservative on many issues but I very much believe in living as "green" of a life as possible for myself and family such as using green cleaning products, eating organic foods etc. So while I'm in support of much of what's discussed on this website at the same time I'm offended when the Conservatives are being blamed for everything on here. Liberals aren't any better than Conservatives in the "Green" issue especially when you look at the way they talk compared to the way they live. Many people, whether their liberal, moderate or conservative are at fault!

I have to say first of all that I do believe that global warming is happening, that it's influenced by us, and that we should be doing something to stop it. I also believe that it's silly for people to think otherwise with all the evidence.

BUT

How are these people all that different from you? True, their viewpoint has far less support behind it, but look at what you're saying (or what DeSmogBlog is saying, I suppose):

"They of course neglected to send any reporters to cover the UN climate conference..."

When was the last time you seriously reported on one of these deniers conferences? Not reported snarkily (and yes, I do realize that EarthFirst is all about the snark, and I'm fine with that), but can you really blame them for doing the exact same things you are?

How often is there an article on this website about the actual points made by deniers and their legitimacy? There are "egghead scientists" against global warming, too, just not as many.

We're all people, and we're all entitled to our opinion, and there's no point in bickering. Rational arguments and compromise get things done. Name calling doesn't.

Wow, we're really doing a good job of stuffing things up. Imagine that the oceans are saturated with CO2 emissions! You couldn't make this stuff up. It would be too horrific just to be imagined.

I am glad to read your story, but saddened by its message.

One thing for sure, if you put off doing anything to combat what is deemed the problem, at some point it may become irreversable, then the chorus of "I told you we couldn't stop it" will be deafening.
