I think green car rental companies should be supported, I use this company in the UK, for my car rental at London Heathrow airport and London Gatwick Airport as they offer the best range of low CO2 emmission vehicles, and use Green products throughout there operation, for more information www.car-hire-uk.com

The car renters can't diversify any more though; they can't go for full electric or biofuel cars as the means to charge them across the countries and the world are just not there...and with all the oil companies making such a lot of money from oil, can you see them switching to electric fuelling?

People pay $5-15 more per day for a hybrid than another subcompact car? I guess if you're planning on putting a lot of miles on it, then it makes sense, but if you're just cruising around town while on vacation, why not get something a bit nicer?

Nice piece Stephanie. I have wondered recently while renting a car why the idea of bigger means better. "Would you like to upgrade" they ask me, trying to push me to some giant car. Yes, I would. I would like to upgrade to a Prius.

I was at Enterprise at BWI Airport last year and they said they ran out of cars. They said they could give me the Ford F-150 pick-up truck. It's a giant truck! I said, yes, that makes a lot of sense parking in DC. Thank you very much. Find me a freakin' car.
