Great Green Job of the Week: Internet Marketing and Communications Associate at ACORE

The American Council On Renewable Energy (ACORE) is seeking an internet marketing and communications associate, who will report to the VP of communications and work with the membership and communication teams.
ACORE is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Washington, D.C. with paying members from every aspect and sector of the renewable energy industries and their trade associations, including wind, solar, geothermal, biomass and biofuels, hydropower tidal/current energy and waste energy. The scope of ACORE’s membership also spans – among others – financial institutions, government leaders, educators, end-users, professional service providers and allied non-profit groups.
ACORE accomplishes much of its work by convening the leaders in each of these sectors, publishing collaborative research and facilitating communications among members, their stakeholders and the media.
With a focus on trade, finance and policy, ACORE promotes all renewable energy options for the production of electricity, hydrogen, fuels and end-use energy, including: Solar Energy, Wind Power, Geothermal Energy, Hydro & Ocean Energy, Waste Energy & Fuels, Biomass Energy & Biofuels.
Position Description
ACORE’s Internet presence is vital to our mission of bringing all forms of renewable energy into the mainstream of American economy and lifestyle. Our Internet Marketing and Communications Associate is responsible for executing the day to day operation of our internet based marketing and communication systems. This includes a content management system, customer relationship management (CRM), e-commerce, event registration and management, and executing ACORE communications and interaction with members and interested groups.
Specific Duties
- Develop and execute our email marketing campaigns for all conferences and events. (Five conferences, webinars, etc.)
- Layout and distribute our Monthly member update
- Set up and manage the technical aspects of event registration (Cvent)
- Run our social networking system (Intronetworks) that is attached to our conferences.
- Maintain current website information (Joomla and Drupal) for each event site and www.acore.org
- Run search marketing campaign for our events with Google Adwords
- Manage online Board of Directors elections (Votenet)
- Work with and manage relationships of our web development contractors (Wakefly, ABG)
- Manage transcription of all events and conference speeches and upload to our website
- Make recommendations on how we can continually improve our web presence and internet marketing.
- Manage our membership data base (Salesforce) and integration with other databases
- Become an expert on ACORE and our role in the renewable energy industry
- Contribute content to our website, newsletters, events calendar, and event conference materials
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred or Webmaster certification
- 3-5 years of website administration and database maintenance experience
- Demonstrated ability to design, create and maintain web pages
- Experience with content management systems, database integration online, online communications, social networking applications, and current programming technologies such as Vtrends, Cvent, Intronetworks, Joomla, Drupal, Google Adwords, Grantstation, Votenet, Wakefly.
- Technical experience with website languages such as HTML, XML, CSS, SQL queries, accessing server-side functions using PHP and mySQL protocols and photo technology such as Photoshop
- Experience with graphic applications
- Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
The position requires a high degree of skill in grammar, spelling, and punctuation. The ability to focus on assignments and strong attention to detail are essential. The ideal candidate will have the ability to interact effectively with a variety of people, work well as part of a team, and have strong writing and analytic skills. Must have the ability to complete projects diligently, accurately, and quickly.
