It amazes me how desensitized and placid we have become. I would of thought their would be massive civil unrest on a global scale by now and corporate moguls with feet to the fire.

Orwell's dream is here...electronic soma.

Cap-and-trade is not powerful enough to handle carbon emissions. We need a strategy that change the way the economy works like the one proposed at A Structural Solution for Global Warming and the Environment.

It would be more powerful than cap-and-trade and should be less costly to implement and manage.

Very nice post, nine degrees should be taken very seriously, because this kind of warming, should make many many damages around the world. This photograph is fantastic, but very very scary at the same time. Thanks for sharing

I suppose at this point we need to pray for some big volcanoes to cool us off. Maybe we should sacrifice a virgin or something.

Honestly, if you can't see the tree uprooted in the forest from what they called a "ground level jet stream", then there is no hope for humans.

Life seems to focus on today, then tomorrow, but rarely far enough down the road to pre-empt extinction.

Battlestar Galactica comes to mind... thing is we stopped our man conquers space program after Apollo.
