Fox News Belittles Animal Rights, Slams Kids Trying to Go Green

December 24, 2008 · Print This Article

There’s not much that Fox News can do to surprise me. We can pretty well expect anything that comes from this so-called ‘news’ organization to be ignorant, narrow-minded and self-serving despite their ‘fair and balanced’ claims. Yet, a roomful of Fox talking heads eating KFC while insulting people who actually give a shit about things other than themselves seems so self-parodying I wonder why SNL didn’t think of it first. Watch it for yourself:

I can’t say it much better than Michael over at Ecorazzi did:

“The greatest thing about this story,” said Gutfeld commenting on two women in bikinis protesting outside a KFC, “is that they claim to be PETA members. I’m sure that if any of us went to an actual PETA meeting, we would not find anybody remotely attractive. They are a bunch of lowly people.”

While passing around a bucket of KFC chicken, Gutfeld responded as to why PETA was protesting saying, “The weird thing about making fried chicken? Chickens die in the process. It’s really hard to keep them alive while you eat them.” Really, Greg? Is that the reason? That’s some fine balanced reporting.

Not content to take his dick out of his mouth just yet, Gutfeld then went on to slam kids that are going green and trying to educate their parents as well. “This makes me wish that I could have kids,” he said, “so I could punish them.”

As I’ve said before here on EarthFirst, I’m not the biggest fan of PETA’s tactics, simply because they sometimes do more harm than good and end up making all vegetarians and animal rights advocates look like kooks. But, PETA does a lot of important work on behalf of creatures in this world that can’t speak up for themselves, and the conditions at the factory farms where KFC get their chickens from really are appalling.

But, it’s really the part where they ridicule kids trying to be environmentally responsible that gets me. God forbid that there are children in America who care about important things instead of just toys and television.

Then there’s his comment about us crazy environmentalists who “think the environment is more important than humanity”. What Greg Gutfeld and the other smug assholes sitting around this table don’t seem to get is the fact that, without a healthy environment, there can be no humanity.

I don’t want to watch this because I don’t want to bum my wife out (we are both vegans). I can see the guy actually eating chicken – I imagine as a way to taunt people like us. I think people may be waking up to the fact that there are better things to spend time doing than watching Fox news.

It seems to be a failed, non-humorous publicity stunt that also doesn’t advance the sick & vile destruction by consumption society since the whole effort they attempt for coercion of moronic America has turned several more fence riders onto our vegan virtues.

PETA campaign coordinators like the lovely womyn shown there are compensated activists who also are more deliciously sexy than most models because they eat delectable vegan meals rather than binge/ purge or abstain from all edibles.

The fox commentary seems to be a failed, non-humorous publicity stunt that won’t advance a sick & vile destruction by consumption society. Since airing, the whole effort they attempted for coercion of moronic America has unintentionally turned several more fence riders onto our vegan virtues.

PETA campaign coordinators like the lovely womyn shown there are compensated activists who also are more deliciously sexy than most models because they eat delectable vegan meals rather than binge/ purge or abstain from all edibles.

Animal Liberationists are on the advantage and inevitably do win out (As also do all of the under-evolved who benefit through a full absorption of humanity into higher and divine likeness.) because brains are bound to benignify all brawns. Vegans have better than average intellectual resources, the tests all say so.

Halle Berry is a lot more beautiful than those PETA ladies can ever hope to be. They look like they are in their fifties while she’s forty-two and looks like she’s twenty-one. In my view, she is a lot more talented in acting than Pamela Anderson can ever hope to be. It’s no wonder she’s won so many awards, including two Academy Awards. I hate to break it to you, animal rights activists, but this is America, and people have the right to criticize you in a respectful manner. The problem with you is that you dismiss them as not caring about animals. You don’t listen to what they have to say before defending yourself. You think you have the right to force your views on people, but you don’t. That’s why people get mad at you. You think you have every right to impose your views on people. I don’t agree with the concept of animal rights. How can animals have rights when they don’t have the capacity to think like us? I’m all for animal welfare and the humane treatment of animals. Animal rights just wants to take away people’s rights and have everyone be like them. I’ve never had anything against vegetarians or vegans, but when they start acting like they are superior, I am bound to get angry.

By the way, I’ve been on several farms, and not one abused their animals. Most farmers bend their backs over to care for their animals, making sure they are fed, watered, and healthy. The same goes for fur farmers. The image of an animal being skinned alive for its fur in China is horrible, but that isn’t what American fur farmers do. Besides, that practice is very dangerous and difficult. It also ruins the fur. An abused animal produces poor quality meat, fur, milk, and eggs.

Many people say vegetarian diets prevent cancer. Then why did Christina Applegate, a known vegetarian actress, get breast cancer a few years ago? This proves cancer is caused by other factors, not just diet. Genetics can play a part in cancer, though this factor seems to be pretty rare. Try to say vegans make better dancers, singers, athletes, actors, and writers, and you’ll be laughed out of the building. What you eat has nothing to do with your talents. You can call me a redneck with no compassion for animals. I don’t care. I have a right to my opinion, and it should be respected, whether you agree with it or not.

There are a lot of people, even animal liberationists, who are a bit wary of PETA, but blatantly misquoting the “KFC Cruelty” campaign just makes a person sound dumb. If they think there’s nothing wrong with KFC, they should at least say something like

“The weird thing about making fried chicken is that chickens are suffer extreme cruelty, which would be illegal if done to dogs or cats. That doesn’t bother me, though, ’cause abused chickens sure taste good.”

They’re entitled to have those opinions, but they should at least present them accurately.

Still, I agree that the ridicule of environmentally conscious kids is most offensive. These people are part of the generation that is largely responsible for our environmental disasters, and their making fun of members of the world’s future who would actually like to HAVE a livable planet in the future. The ironic thing is that these same people would likely agree that many of today’s youths are tragically apathetic, yet they have no respect for kids who are actually trying to be more responsible.

Nevertheless, I don’t think you have to worry too much about environmentally concerned youth being swayed by the opinions of talking heads. I am fourteen, and seeing this video only makes me more determined to be green. I can’t speak for everybody, but i think that young people who have made the commitment to have a more sustainable lifestyle do not care much what Faux News thinks.

PS: My reply to “Sharky:” You are absolutely right that we should not look down on those with different opinions. I agree that ethical vegans are sometimes judgmental, although many are simply trying to make the world a better place for animals. I respect your opinions, but i don’t understand this comment:

“How can animals have rights when they don’t have the capacity to think like us?”

Mentally retarded humans do not have the capacity to think like us, but I don’t believe that eliminates their rights to life, liberty, and happiness. Furthermore, animals DO have the capacity to feel pain like us, so why should they be forced to tolerate unnecessary pain, just because they cannot protest?

David, you are one smart fourteen year old. Thanks for commenting.

I’m glad it’s here to comment on. XD I live in a very conservative region and while the people are very nice, most aren’t very concerned about animals and trees.

These people really do sound more like a parody of themselves. You could keep the same lines and exaggerate the expressions and you’d have a perfect satire skit.

    Shame on you Fox!!
There are a lot worse things kids could be doing. The generations you are bashing will most likely pay the consequences for our wasteful past; if the world survives long enough for them to live to adulthood. Be honest with yourself, could you really eat that KFC if you were watching some of the under-cover videos of the abuse you spoke of.
If your answer is YES; then prove it. Put the videos on the screen and pass the bucket.
And apologize to our nation’s youth who are being hero’s by saving our earth. Please hurry on that request; lest they will give up and grab a crack-pipe.

Got something to say?
