EarthFirst.com’s Top 25 Hottest Guys in Green (#25-21)

June 8, 2008 · Print This Article

Last week, we brought you the Top 25 Hottest Girls in Green, and this week we’re giving you the other half of the Green Hotness Coin. You didn’t think I’d let the guys here at EarthFirst forget you ladies (and lad loving lads), did you? This is no typical roster of shirtless meatheads who purely serve as eye candy. We’ve chosen the hottest 25 guys active in environmentalism including activists, business professionals, media moguls, musicians, actors and chefs. So get yourself a hat, and get ready to hold the eff onto it. 25 hot green guys are comin’ at you this week, five at a time.

25. Al Gore

Al Gore wouldn’t be likely to make it onto many ‘Top 25 Hottest Guys’ lists, but we think he’s the perfect way to kick off this one. He’s got green cred and then some. And he may have spent years wearing dorky navy blue suits as Playboy Bill’s sidekick, but he ain’t too bad to look at himself.

Al, of course, is a renowned environmental activist and was awarded the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize, together with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, for the “efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change.” His Academy Award-winning documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, brought the facts about global warming to the masses and elevated climate change to worldwide consciousness. He currently serves as chairman for the Alliance for Climate Protection, and continues to campaign for environmental causes.

24. Gregory Schaefer

Gregory Schaefer is the hot chef on budding cable network Planet Green’s show, The G Word, challenging other chefs to contests like “The Ultimate Eco Cook Off”. Gregory deems himself ‘a hardcore foodie’, and is a vocal proponent of organic and local food. Gregory is currently the pastry chef at Canelé, a hot new bistro in Los Angeles’ east side, and also hosts the vlog (video blog) Organic A to Z. Gregory’s got quite a colorful personality and is extremely enthusiastic about organic cooking.

23. Brian C. Howard

Brian C. Howard is the Home and Eco Tips editor at The Daily Green, one of the best sources on the web for info about the green revolution. Brian previously spent five years as Managing Editor of E/The Environmental Magazine, America’s oldest independent environmental magazine. He’s written thousands of articles over the years for a variety of very well respected publications including National Geographic’s The Green Guide, and co-authored the book Green Living: The E Magazine Handbook for Living Lightly on the Earth. Girls who know him say he’s sweet, caring and cute, and he sure does have an impressive resume. He’s pictured here (center) with two fellow members of our list – tune in daily this week to learn their identities!

22. Wen Bo

As Wen Bo can attest, being an environmental activist in China is lonely work. Despite China’s growing reputation as the heaviest polluter in the world – they’ve eclipsed us here in the United States – the Chinese haven’t yet awakened to the need for change. That doesn’t mean Wen Bo is going to give up any time soon – to the contrary, it’s motivation to work even harder. He’s head of China operations for the California-based Pacific Environment Group, and allocates grants to new environmental grassroots organizations in China through the Colorado Greengrants Fund. He has the courage to speak out against the government in a country known for its censorship, stating for instance that China’s plans to build nuclear reactors without local consultation “irrational and undemocratic”.

21. Hank Green

Who says geeks can’t be sexy? Hank Green of EcoGeek.org tops off today’s round of hot green guys. Eco Geek, as they put it themselves, “devotes its pages to exploring the symbiosis between nature and technology.” Hank Green founded Eco Geek, one of the top sources of environmental info on the web, and is one of the main writers for his popular site. Not content with sticking to Green Tech, he’s also broadened his growing media empire to include environmentally themed food, politics, and bike commuting blogs. He may be the only person on our list who has his own army- the intensely loyal Nerdfighters. Hank is also a genuine YouTube star, collaborating with his brother author John Green on Vlog Brothers.

Al Gore …..He’s 60 ?….It seems all you have to do is be the catalyst for changing the entire world view on climate change , and you get categorized as a “hot” green guy?

@Colin You can’t be Hot at 60? I would bet there are plenty of women out there wouldn’t mind a run in the green sack with Mr. Gore. I’d still nail Tipper. :D
