I know there are other people doing events to raise awareness to the state of the planet, but without high profile events such as this most of the worlds population would remain in ignorence to the level of damage we are doing to the planet. for example until about an hour ago I had never heard of the "Great Pacific Gabage Patch" it was only when reading about this venture that I became aware ot if.
