Angry Green Girl Uses Boobs and Sarcasm to Push Better Habits
September 2, 2009 · Print This Article

If a hot chick wearing next-to-nothing scoffs at you for environmentally unfriendly habits, would you be enticed to change? Angry Green Girl is counting on it. This network of “hot, green and shameless” women, led by Sophia – resident bitch and official ‘Angry Green Girl’ – is dedicated to “exploiting everything they got to save the world”.
Does it work? It seems like a lot of people could be turned off by the “mean girl” shtick, especially when it comes off so holier-than-thou – and this tact is bound to offend.
But, of course, sex sells, and if Sophia “Angry Green Girl” and her crew keep goading guys into being greener with hybrid-only bikini car washes and things like that, they might have some success.
Or, they might end up with guys tuning in to watch their videos – on mute.

Great idea! It might work for some. Anything to get everybody on the ‘green’ band-wagon. It might seem slightly tasteless to some considering the seriousness of the issues involved, but the issues affects everybody. We should be trying everything we can to get even those that only react to ‘hot’ women thinking about Green issues… I guess her audience are probably young males who will undoubtedly ‘react’ to her videos.
Definitely, a lot of people would likke to change themselves . Anyone would like to change if the girls pass on some sort of benefit for changing the habits also.May be a hot kiss for improvement each time,
My trouble is with the angry girl routine. The article suggests “sex sells” which is quite true. But there is little promise of sex from a woman screaming at you. In truth, it sounds more like the beginnings of a domestic incident, and would have a strong possibility of making men turn away. Think in terms of operant conditioning. The act of moving away from/turning off this woman’s tirade will become the act of negative reinforcement. The stimuli (being berated) is removed. When consideration of classical conditioning is considered, I find it a scarier prospect, as this could set some people on the path of associating “green” and other environmentally responsible ideologies with uncomfortable stimuli, and lead to a future breakdown in communication with some people.
Admittedly, I’m an armchair psychologist at best, and I don’t know the full extent of the young woman’s plans. But carrot works better than stick, and it sounds like stick is all that is being offered here.
I tend to think that the ends usually justify the means – I guess I’m more practical than idealistic, at the end of the day. I don’t see any real problem with exploiting sex if the goal is to save the environment, or, more accurately, to save ourselves from what we’re doing to the environment – let’s face it, if we disappeared, the Earth would rebound. It’s really US that need to be saved.
