Once considered an environment that simply couldn’t support life, the deepest darkest reaches of the seas have since been proven a treasure trove of mind-boggling creatures – beautiful and strange, sometimes even nightmarish. The results of a ten-year deep sea census of marine life have been revealed by scientists at last and the images that they have captured are absolutely astounding.
